Hotel Luxury Starting Home

While I was out browsing for items for my brand. I came across this duvet cover. My client was in desperate need of a make over in her room. She currently had light & dark brown silk drapes behind her bed which I played off. I've paired the bed with 2 euro pillows located in the far back to give the bed a more fuller look. From there I pulled the colors from the drapes on to the bed. Which is the main focus of the room.

This bedroom lacked character and needed a little sprucing up. I installed small mirrors behind the lamps to give a little contrast. While working on a small budget I was able to come across some fabulous finds in my search!  Both tables I bought from Marshall's for about $100. The tray in front of the lamp fixture is from my personal collection. I added some candles to make the look complete for about $8.00. Boxes at the bottom of the table are from Home Goods about $80 total. The mirrors behind each lamp were about $70.

At the foot of the bed. We needed to add storage and a seating area. The room didn't have any place for a chair so the bench works in more than one way! I loved the leather tufted seating. It gives the room some texture.

My Latest...

So my latest design is finally posted! This is the fabric that I recently bought. The unfortunate part was they no longer carried this so I just used it for my guest bedroom. It looks a little orange-ish because of the flash and lighting in the room. But overall I LOVE IT!!!

I've recently been working on a couple new projects... After looking high and low for some sort of pattern that I like and wouldn't make me break the bank I've FINALLY found a fabric to make some new drapes. The unfortunate side of it was they don't continue with that print! :(


But no worries it was fine I'm using it in my guest bedroom. Most of my fabrics that I have is from my late grandmother. So I've been doing a lot of practice on those before I felt confident enough to go out and by the real stuff. Throughout my blog I'll occasionally post pictures of the different fabrics I had to play with. Which by the way was a lot! I've used most of it to make pillows and drapes. Cause at the moment that's the easiest thing to do and again doesn't cost too much! Also as I've mentioned before in my "about me" tab I'm a collector at heart.


What I mean by that is if I see something that catches my eye I'll buy it and use it throughout the year, special occasions, or just because! Please don't confuse me with being a hoarder...As I'm far from it!! I know when to hold and let go. I can't tell you how many times I'm in a store with something in my hand or in the shopping cart. Before I decide to get anything I walk around with it until it's time to leave. By then I'll know if I love it=want it or like it=don't really need it.

New to this...even in 2010!!

I've never started a blog until now...so here goes nothing...lol
So call it cliche but you know how people tell you "I'm an inspiring actor". Well you can say I'm an inspiring interior designer. I've sparked an interest with interior design. For months I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I've been told to do what I'm most passionate about, surround myself with others that are interested in what I like, etc. Anything that has to do with a house I'm so into it.


As you continue to read my blogs you'll learn about my faults and greatest achievements. Not like any awards or anything like that...yet! But I look forward to becoming a home name. One thing about me is I like to make my own designs. My inspiration comes from many different sources. So keep checking back to see what Ive got up my sleeve.
